An Irish midfielder of rare elegance and vision, Brady's left foot made him one of the finest players of his generation: voted the Football Writers' Player of the Year in 1979, the same year he inspired the club to FA Cup glory in the 'five-minute final'. He left for Juventus in 1980, where he won two Serie A titles.
