A powerful young forward who scored the goal that won the League title itself in the Double season: a towering header from a George Armstrong cross in the final match of the campaign, away at Tottenham, needed to clinch the Championship outright. He moved to Liverpool in 1974 and won five more league titles and three European Cups there, before a long, dignified battle with Parkinson's disease (diagnosed in 1984, not long after his career ended) later became as much a part of his story as anything he did on the pitch.
